In the poem “Having a Coke with You,” Frank O’Hara describes the experience of having a soda with his beloved as better than anything in the world, “partly because of my love for you, partly because of your love for yoghurt.” Even the most absorbing romantic love is full of love for these kinds of tiny, seemingly mundane details, and during this creative writing workshop in poetry, we’ll practice writing any kind of love that may be meaningful to you. The ancient Greeks said there were at least six main forms of love; I think we can find even more. Whether romantic, familial, platonic, or even simply your own love for yogurt, we’ll find a way to celebrate and honor any form of love that may presently be in your life.
